Material to bring

Material to bring

Basic material you can choose to bring to your foundation course. Notepads, drawing pads, colours and other artist materials of your choice, acrylic paint, canvases, brushes and other tools. We use acrylic paint on our courses because it does not smell and enhances the process by drying faster. And please, no glitter in our ateljé.

For example:

  • Notebook
  • Sketch pad/paper, copying paper is also okay
  • Pencil, plus some coloured pencils
  • Acrylic paint: main colours plus black, white and any other colours you like
  • 4 canvases (medium size approximately 50×60 cm)
  • 1 small canvas (approximately 20×20 cm or less)
  • 2 large canvases (approximately 60×80 cm, or more if you like!)

If you are travelling, you may find it easier to bring canvas on a roll (unframed) that you can cut to any size when you need it.

  • You can also use acrylic paper instead of a canvas
  • Acrylic brushes: for example, 2 large, 3 medium, 2 small
  • Kitchen sponges, 2 pieces.
  • A rag, strong wood glue.
  • Palette or old plate for mixing paint
  • Masking tape, if you are working with unframed canvas or paper
  • Wear old rugged clothes that can stand some staines and spilling

Easels, boards and small buckets for water are available in our Ateljé.

Keep it simple when choosing your materials. For starters, it is not necessary to purchase a large assortment. If you have no experience with purchasing suitable painting materials, then you may wonder about what to bring. Vedic Art has a deep rooting in making your own choices, so the first step in the process for you can be to consciously choose your own material to bring.
